Getting started
New here? This is the two-minute orientation — what BizDocs is and what actually happens when you create a document.
BizDocs turns your answers to plain-English questions into complete, professionally structured business documents — contracts, leases, wills, policies, and 357 document types in all — ready to download as PDF or Word in minutes.
Three steps. You pick a document (search or browse the library). You answer a short questionnaire — who's involved, key terms, your preferences — written so a non-lawyer can breeze through it. BizDocs then assembles your document, which you review, fine-tune, and download. Most people finish inside ten minutes.
You can browse every document page and category freely without one. Creating and downloading a document requires an account, so your work is saved and you can come back to it.
Every document page shows a preview of the document's structure and describes exactly what sections are included — so you know what you're getting before you spend a dollar.
Especially for you. Every question is written in plain English, unfamiliar terms are explained as you go, and the document handles the professional structure — numbered clauses, definitions, signature blocks — behind the scenes.
Documents & customization
The heart of the product: how your answers become a document that fits your situation instead of a template you have to fight.
357 documents across 21 categories: business formation, corporate governance, contracts, service agreements, employment & HR, intellectual property, website & e-commerce policies, loans & debt, sales, residential leasing, landlord notices, real estate deeds, commercial real estate, construction, estate planning, powers of attorney, family, affidavits, legal notices & releases, health & medical, and nonprofits. Many documents also support named variants — 219 in all — built in the same guided flow. If it needs to be signed, delivered, or kept as a formal record, it’s likely here.
Genuinely customized — not mail-merged. Your answers change which sections appear, how clauses are worded, and what terms apply. A member-managed Texas LLC gets a different operating agreement than a manager-managed California one, because they need different documents.
Where state rules matter — leases, eviction notices, operating agreements, employment policies — the questionnaire asks your state and shapes the relevant sections accordingly. For high-stakes or unusual situations, we still recommend a local attorney's review.
BizDocs covers the well-trodden paths thoroughly. If your situation is genuinely novel — complex multi-party deals, contested disputes, regulated industries — a customized document is a strong starting point, but attorney judgment is worth paying for. We'll never pretend otherwise.
Yes — consultants, bookkeepers, agencies, and property managers do it daily. Create documents on your clients' behalf, and with Unlimited, reuse saved details to move faster with every new client.
Downloads, editing & reuse
Your document, your files, your changes — here's how the mechanics work after the questionnaire ends.
Every document downloads as both a polished PDF (ready to print or send) and a fully editable Microsoft Word .docx file (ready to tweak anywhere). Both are included with every document, on every plan.
Yes. Adjust any section before downloading on any plan. With Unlimited, your documents stay in your account, so you can come back next month, change the terms, and re-download — no starting over.
Never. A downloaded document is an ordinary file on your computer — yours to keep, print, send, and sign forever, even if you cancel.
On Unlimited, no — reuse your saved details and just change what's different. The second consulting agreement takes a fraction of the time the first one did.
Plans & billing
Two prices, no asterisks. Here's how paying, switching, and leaving work.
Three: a Single Document purchase at $29.99 — one document, immediate download, no subscription — or BizDocs Unlimited, either $1.99 for your first 7 days and then $29.99/month, or $99/year billed annually, for unlimited documents, full customization, editing, and storage. Details on the pricing page.
Simple rule: one document, once — go Single. Anything more — even two documents in a month — Unlimited is already the better deal, and it keeps everything stored and editable.
Cancel in one click from account settings. You keep access through your paid period, and everything you've downloaded is yours permanently. No retention calls, no guilt trips.
For billing errors and technical failures on our end — absolutely, contact us and we'll fix it. Because documents deliver instantly, completed downloads generally aren't refundable. Our Terms of Use has the full policy.
If prices ever change, you'll get notice before your next renewal — never a silent increase. Locked-in mid-cycle charges don't change.
Security & privacy
You're trusting us with business details. Here's exactly how we treat them.
Yes — encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in secure cloud infrastructure, with access inside our team limited and logged. Full details live in our Privacy Policy.
You. Our staff doesn't browse customer documents; access is limited to support you request, security, or legal compliance. Your documents are your business — literally.
No and no. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your document content to build features for other customers. This is written into our Privacy Policy, not just this FAQ.
The legal fine print
The honest section: what BizDocs documents are, what they aren't, and when to call a professional.
BizDocs documents follow the structure and language of professionally drafted agreements, and a properly signed agreement is generally enforceable. Enforceability always depends on the specifics — parties, terms, jurisdiction, execution — which is true of any document, from any source.
No and no. BizDocs is self-help software. No attorney-client relationship is created, and nothing on this site is legal advice for your specific situation. We're proud of what the product does — and clear about what it doesn't.
When the stakes dwarf the fee: complex deals, contested disputes, regulated industries, big-dollar decisions, or anything where a mistake would be existential. A good pattern many customers use: create the document with BizDocs, then have an attorney review it — an hour of review costs far less than drafting from scratch.
